Recently, China’s National Press and Publishing Bureau and the National Office Against Pornographic and Illegal Publications jointly deployed the rectification on online literature works from May to August of 2018, with a focus on three major problems involving online literature works, particularly incorrect guidance and vulgar contents, distribution of obscene and pornographic content as well as IPR infringement and piracy. The local authorities should take active and quick measures of strict supervision and regulation. Now, a batch of administrative and criminal cases have been tracked down and the punishment has been imposed upon a batch of illegal and regulation-breaking websites of online literature. Besides, the above two government agencies have coordinated other relevant departments to close down over 400 illegal and regulation-violating websites of online literature works.
